Construction machinery such as road rollers are capital-intensive, technology-intensive products closely related to related industries. They involve a wide range of technologies and diverse business operations. The increasing technological content of main engine manufacturers' products requires close cooperation from numerous supporting manufacturers; approximately 60%-70% of the components need to be supplied by specialized factories. The production of road roller mainframes mainly involves overall product design, structural component manufacturing, and the selection and assembly of supporting components.
After more than 40 years of continuous development, China's road roller industry has made significant progress. Especially since the 1990s, the production and sales volume of road rollers have grown rapidly, with an increasing number of companies joining the road roller production sector. This has brought the number of road roller manufacturers to over 80, capable of producing a relatively complete series of products, including 5-30t vibratory rollers, 4-24t static rollers, and 16-30t pneumatic tire rollers. A complete road roller manufacturing system capable of independent development and production has been basically formed, and the gap between its technological level and international advanced levels is gradually narrowing. This rapid growth is bound to propel the road roller component industry into a new era of development. 2007 was a crucial year for the national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," with increased efforts in highway construction and earlier-than-expected construction across the country, which boosted market demand to some extent. Nationwide sales of road rollers reached 9,841 units in 2007, continuing the growth trend. Road roller sales maintained an upward trend, with 18 road roller manufacturers selling a total of 6,086 units from January to June. Sales of major products increased by 16.43% compared to the same period in 2007.
